INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Taps™ Odor Control Air Scrubbers
Once you are at the installation site,
Steps 1-4 will likely take you less than one minute
each. Steps 5-7 will take longer the first time through,
but only a minute or two each when exchanging an
expended scrubber for a new one.
Step 1.
Place scrubber on firm footing as near as practicable to
odor source.
Step 2.
Drill a 1/2" hole through the sidewall, 1/2" up from the
bottom of scrubber. This must be
done in order to allow condensate to drain, otherwise
there is potential of blocking airflow.
Step 3.
Remove clamp ring and shipping lid.
Step 4.
Inside the scrubber, you will see a flex-hose with a
rigid, 3" stub at its end. Push this stub firmly into
the interior socket of the intake fitting on the cover.
(Do not glue.) Put cover on scrubber and replace clamp
ring.
Step 5.
If scrubber is sited out-of-doors and is being used
passively (without a fan), place 90° rain elbow on
exhaust port. If scrubber is indoors, extend exhaust to
atmosphere with 3" or larger ducting. (Fan exhaust
is 6"; may be reduced to 3".) This must be done for
either fan or passive units. (Do not glue exhaust
duct to fan or cover.)
Step 6.
Connect intake to odor source. This can be done in a
variety of ways, such as with a flex-hose to a hole in a
hatch cover or with rigid PVC to a cored hole or
connection on a vent pipe. Use 3" intake
ducting.
Step 7.
Connect to electrical power according to local
regulations. We recommend that you install a fan speed
control.
